Frequently Asked Questions > System features and how-to > Why do internal calls ring busy when the dialed extension is in use?
This is a system feature to let you know that the person is on the phone. Our customers have found this useful for two reasons. On internal calls, you know that the person is on the phone, and not away from the office. This prevents wasting time looking for the person. For call transfers, you are able to tell the caller that the person is on the phone versus just away from the office.
This feature can be removed if desired, however the majority of our customers find it better to use it.
